Emmett Eddie Austin, Jr. was born to Virginia and Emmett Eddie Austin, Sr. on October 5, 1933 in Benchley, Texas.

Emmett went from labor to reward on November 11, 2012.

He served in the United States Army for four years. In 1957, Emmett met Ruth J. Smith and married her on April 26, 1958 and to this blessed union four children were born: Phyllis "Phil", Christopher, Vicki and Miracle (adopted granddaughter). He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth and children, Christopher and Phyllis.

Emmett was the pastor of Horizon Missionary Baptist Church for thirteen years. He later joined and co-pastored True Light Prayer House until his health failed.

His memories will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
