Her passing brings sorrow to those who loved her, yet also the comfort of faith, knowing that she has gone home to be with the Lord.
Emma Jean Smith, born on January 7, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, entered eternal rest on October 5, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. After a very brief illness, she peacefully transitioned from this life to life eternal to dwell in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her passing brings sorrow to those who loved her, yet also the comfort of faith, knowing that she has gone home to be with the Lord.
Emma’s life began in Dallas, the city that remained an important part of her story from birth to her final earthly days. She will be remembered with love, gratitude, and reverence by all who were blessed to know her. In this season of parting, her loved ones hold close the promise of God’s peace and the blessed assurance of everlasting life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Emmanuel Samples, and by her loving parents, Clinton Smith and Alice Dabbs Jones. Their memories remained a cherished part of her life, and their legacy continues to be honored with love.
Family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate Emma’s life in the days ahead. A visitation will be held on October 16, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, 6449 University Hills Blvd, Dallas, TX 75241. A visitation with family will follow that same evening, October 16, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at House of Refuge Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1822 Bayside St, Dallas, TX 75212.
She will be remembered with love, gratitude, and reverence by all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 17, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at House of Refuge Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1822 Bayside Street, Dallas, TX 75212. Interment will at Mountain Creek Cemetery, 2099 Hardy Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75051.
As we remember Emma Jean Smith, we give thanks to God for her life and for the love that continues to surround her memory. May all who mourn her be comforted by the Lord’s abiding presence, strengthened by His grace, and uplifted by the hope of reunion in His eternal kingdom.
