Obituary

Ellsworth Versey was born October 8, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, to Robert and
Ella Versey.
Ellsworth was a product of the Dallas Independent School District, having
attended Paul L. Dunbar, Pearl C. Anderson, and James Madison High School.
Ellsworth confessed his belief in Christ early and was baptized by Rev. C.A.W
Clark at Good Street Baptist Church. In 2003 Ellsworth united with Antioch
Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. Karry D. Wesley,
where he remained a member even in his health struggles.
Ellsworth married June Anderson in 1969, and to this union, two daughters
were born. Ellsworth also had one son.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters; Hazel Johnson, Mattie
Holloway, Tina Versey, and Ruthie Versey, and one brother Clarence Moore,
Sr. Survivors are Daughters Leslie Versey and Bridgette Versey., Son Kirk
Waters, eight grandchildren, Sister Robbie Carter, and many nieces/nephews/
cousins and friends. Most of all, Ellsworth's BFF, his great-niece Aaryn ( Shea'
Bird) Carter.
