Elbert Earl Crear was born on January 23, 1941, to the parents of Earlie Crear and Thelma Lee McClendon Crear in Rusk County. He attended Julia C. Frazier Elementary Schol and N. W. Harley. Then he attended Lincoln High School and graduated from The Great James Madison High School. He was a true "Lover of Golf". He was offered a Golf Scholarship at HBCU-Tennessee State University.
He accepted Christ at an early age at True Lee Baptist Church on Copeland Street in South Dallas under the leadership of the late R.L. Parish Sr. His favorite book of the bible is the Book of Psalms, Psalm 23 in its entirety.
He started working at Wyatt's Cafeteria #11 as a Fry Cook and Bus Boy. He later joined National Linen Service of Dallas 9 years as a warehouse person but was promoted to delivery driver. He also worked at Texas Meat for 7 years and the New Hawk Meat Packing Company for 4 years, National Chemsearch for 10 years. Later he worked several construction jobs until heretired in 2003.
Elbert Earl Crear married Alice Faye Johnson Crear on June 14, 1962, and they had three children: Darrell Lamar Crear, Yolanda RaShaun Fleming (Roy), and Christie Patreece Crear.
Elbert was preceded in death by both his parents Earlie and Thelma Crear, his stepmother Viola Crear, his eldest brother Lester Crear Sr., step-brother Richard Davis, his youngest brother James Aaron Crear.
He leaves to cherish and survive by one brother John Reed Crear Sr., three sisters-in-law Shirley Crear, Bertha Crear and Bernetta Grimes Crear-Bayless. His three children Darrell, Yolanda (Roy), Christie. His grandchildren Akilah, Cyntesia, Christopher, Cierra, Kissima and
Calvin (Mikierra). His great-grandchildren – DeShun, Jordyn, Kalik, Christopher II, Miaire and Egan. He leaves many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
He leaves a special love interest Teresa Medlock of 27 years and a special cousin Margaret Ann Crear Thorton.
