A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Elbert J. Bryles, age 65, transitioned peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at his home in Grand Prairie, Texas. Elbert was born on September 4, 1961, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Eddie Conley and Gloria Bryles. He spent his formative years in Arkansas before relocating to Dallas, Texas, in 1985 in pursuit of new opportunities.

After moving to Texas, Elbert established a successful career in logistics that spanned more than 30 years. Known for his dependability, strong work ethic, and dedication, he devoted 19 years of service to Steelcase (Vecta), 11 years to Cardinal Health, and three and a half years to McLane. In 2025, after many years of faithful service, Elbert entered a well-deserved retirement. Elbert was a gifted craftsman who took tremendous pride in renovating his own home and helping others improve theirs. Whether painting, plumbing, installing flooring, or completing another household project, there was very little he could not do with his hands.

He also loved firing up the grill and preparing his world-famous at least in our world barbecue, smoked turkey dressing, and delicious desserts, especially his famous peach cobbler. Elbert’s passion for automobiles was equally unmatched. Among his favorites were his beloved blue 1967 Mustang and several Cadillacs, including the Escalade and XT6.

Elbert was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Conley; his mother, Gloria Brewster; and his brother, Johnny Brewster Jr. Left to cherish his loving memory are his devoted wife, Sherri; his stepfather, Johnny Brewster Sr.; his sons, Timothy Bryles and Montayvious Scott; his daughters, Kristie Johnson and Kimberly Bryles; his stepsons, Michael Washington II and Christopher Washington; his brothers, Arthur Brewster and David (Rita) Brewster; his sisters, Katherine Brewster, Tealisa (Derick) Wright, and Annie Blocker; and his six grandchildren, Kenneth Jr.,Keymauria, Kelsey, Brooklyn, Terrance Jr., and Angel.

Elbert also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories, laughter, love, and legacy he leaves behind.
