On January 15, 1963, in Dallas, TX, Mattie Bolton and Jim Vation were blessed to give birth to their youngest baby boy, Edwin. Better known as "Beanie" to his family and close friends, no matter the circumstance you could always count on a day full of fun and laughter. He was an avid sports fan and always cheered on his hometown sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys his favorite. Edwin passed away on August 6, 2012, at Baylor Cancer Hospital in Dallas, TX after a hard fought battle with bone cancer.

He attended school at Fanny C. Harris Elementary (1-6) J.L. Long Jr High School (7-9), Woodrow Wilson High School (10-12), and completed his education at Grambling University.

On September 16, 2006, he united in marriage with Sonji Johnson where they resided in Arlington, TX. Throughtout hard times and good times, the two loved each other and remained devoted to one another until death did them apart. He was a proud father of six children (and stepfather to two). Edwin was preceded in death by his father Jim Vation.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Wife: Sonji Vation, Mother: Mattie Vation; Brothers: John (Wanda) of Plano, TX, Bobby (Dorothy) of Cedar Hill, TX, Andre (Deborah) of Cedar Hill, TX, and Hawk Quinney of Dallas, TX; Sisters: Jimmie Vation of DeSoto,TX, and Melba Williams of Cedar Hill; Children: Terri Malone, Edwin Vation JR., LaShawn (Sabrina) Vation, Deshanna Vation, Taylor Vation, and Austin Vation; stepchildren: Ashley Johnson and Johnny Johnson IV; 6 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many relatives, love ones and friends.
