Eddie Robinson, Jr., the son of the late Eddie Robinson, Sr. and Irene Robinson, was born in Navasota, Texas on February 26, 1928, the fifth son of nine children.

He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age under the leadership of Rev. George West at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Navasota. TX.

Bro. Robinson attended schools in the Navasota School District. Upon graduation, he later moved to Ovilla, TX., where he met and married Mauryce Barnes in 1946. To this union, five children were born: Linda Faye, Frankie Lee, Edward G., Joyce Marie and Doris Jean.

He was a member of the Ovilla Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor S.M. Cloud. He moved to Dallas, TX where he united with the Carver Heights Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. T. Carter, where he served as a deacon. And later, he became a member of the Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Late Dr. Karry D. Wesley, where he served faithfully until his failed health.

Bro. Robinson transitioned to glory and received his wings on Friday, August 21, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie, Sr. and Irene Robinson; son, Edward G. Robinson; daughter, Joyce Marie Johnson, granddaughter, Kimberly Leshone Mays, three sisters, Pearl Robinson, Leola Adkison and Mary Glover and two brothers, William Robinson and Horace Robinson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted and loving wife, Mauryce Robinson; three loving daughters: Linda Faye Avery of Grand Prairie, Frankie Lee Bray and Doris Jean Robinson of Dallas; six grandchildren, three grandsons: Keith (Sylvia) Avery of Cedar Hill, Kedric Dejuan Avery of Dallas, Jarvis Robinson of Dallas; two granddaughters: Shaniqua Vershon Bray of Duncanville, Amber (Kevin) Nicole Rock of Cedar Hill; brother, Jessie (Edna) Robinson of South Carolina; two sisters: Mattie (Homer) Hogues and Artie Cobb of Dallas; nine great-grandchildren: Kennesia Mays, Lataria Peterson, Brittney D. Avery, Keandria Avery, Latasia Avery, Breana Gray of Dallas, Sasha Avery, Amaria Nicole Stern, Alanna Marie Stern, Xavier Robinson; twelve great-great-granchildren: Cedraiaha Peterson, Camdynn Peterson, Kimberly Joy Marie Hider, Kylar Young, Kaylan Young, Kilee Young, Kylea Young, Kailee Avery, Kaison Robinson, Brooklyn Satchell, LaNiya and Ava Avery and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relative and friends.
