Celebrating the Life of Dwayne Elroy Giddings

July 29, 1961 – September 26, 2025

Dwayne Elroy Giddings was born on July 29, 1961 in Sandy, TX and gained his wings on September 26, 2025. He is a beloved son of the late Rev. Hezekiah and Nevora Giddings. Accepting Christ at an early age, he maintained a faith that guided and sustained him throughout his life.

He graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1979 and soon after, served honorably in the U.S. Navy. During his military service, he became a skilled master mechanic. With over 40 years of experience, including his tenure with Central Freight Lines, he retired from ABF Freight in 2023, after more than 20 years of dedicated employment.

Dwayne lived life with uncompromising enthusiasm and was a man of many passions – hunting, fishing, showing off his grilling skills, boxing, Star Trek and everything affiliated with the Dallas Cowboys, just to name a few. He made sure there was always laughter, love and maybe even a little good-natured teasing whenever he was around.

Dwayne is survived by his loving wife, Doris Henderson-Giddings, his devoted children: Brittney Giddings-Ferguson, April Giddings and Dwayne Jacmal Giddings; his step-sons: John Henderson (Dettra), Rickey Henderson (Tianen); his mother-in-law: Earline Calhoun; his sister-in-law: Clarie Henderson.

He also leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren: Marcus, Masiah, Moriah, Mercy, A'Marie, Jonila, Luca, Hezekiah, Ava, Malakai; step-grandchildren: John Jr., A'aliyah, Arianna and Laila.

Dwayne is also survived his loving siblings: Yvonne Estes, Annice Williams (Graylon), Hezekiah Giddings (Patricia), Deatria Freeney (James Paul), Gerald Giddings, Rita Giddings-Johnson and Kelvin Giddings, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Vickie Latimer; his step-son, Michael Henderson; and his granddaughter, Niyah Giddings.

He will be remembered for his strong spirit, sense of humor, his kind heart, and most of all, the way he made everyone in his presence feel appreciated and loved.
