Obituary

Douglas Ray Rauls' life began on the 9th of September 1960, birthed in the world by late Robert Lee Smith and Bobbie Jean Rauls.

As the oldest among three siblings, Douglas illuminated their lives and became a beacon of leadership and compassion. Life is often masked by its subtly, but it is indeed magical, much like how Douglas found joy in the little things. He was a connoisseur of the symphonies of life, a music aficionado, and sports enthusiast. The glimmer of a well-detailed car was enough to brighten his day.

In our memory, he will forever remain a friend, a motivator, a man of character whose life amplified love and radiated positivity. But as the sun sets on every day, every life too finds its dusk. Douglas concluded his earthly journey on January 1st, 2025. His departure leaves a void, endless, profound, and deeply ingrained in our hearts.

His profound connection with his family was evident in his everlasting love for those who had passed before him: his father, Robert Lee Smith, his guiding light; his grandmother, Parthenia Rauls, his pillar of strength; his aunt, Ola Mae Rauls, the epitome of love; and his cousin Lorenzo Rauls, his childhood companion.

Even though Douglas is no longer with us physically, his memory and spirit continue to comfort us, reminding us to cherish every moment, to find pleasure in the simple things, to savor the sweet symphony of life, and to never let our passion fade. In the face of mourning, let's celebrate the man he was, the lives he touched, and the love he shared. Douglas Ray Rauls lives on through his mother, Bobbie Rauls; aunt, Betty Rauls; his sisters, Gloria Rauls, and Linda Johnson (Darryl); nieces, Leatrice Morris (Micheal) and Shanika (Maurice); nephew, Steve; and a host great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives and friends.
