Dorothy Eunice Bean Lewis was born in Temple, Texas on October 9th, 1924, to the union of Henry Lee Bean and Celestine Moreland Bean. Dorothy grew up in San Angelo, Texas and attended Blackshear public school.

At an early age, she confessed Christ as her eternal Savior and united with St. James United Methodist Church, in San Angelo, Texas. Dorothy met and married Joseph Boone and out of that union was born two children. Dorothy later met and married Ossie Lewis, where they resided in San Antonio, Texas, and from that marriage three children were born. Dorothy attended and graduated from LVN Nursing School in San Antonio, Texas. She continued her education in Dallas, Texas and received her Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood from Mountain View College, in Dallas, Texas. Dorothy became a substitute teacher with the Dallas Independent School District. Dorothy was a dedicated and nurturing teacher at Cliff View Church of Christ where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, Mother and friend. She was a faithful member of Cliff View Church of Christ where she enjoyed attending church services. Her love and warm smile will be missed by family and friends. She enjoyed practicing Yoga and family outing.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Mr. Ossie Lewis, of Dallas, Texas. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Joansye F. Encarnacion, Wandalyne J. McClure (Robert), Yvonne M. Butler (Rayford), Patricia A. Curtis (Willie), and Karen C. Heard (Robert), ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and loving friends.
