Born October 18,1937 the second child of five,to the late Aubrey Chatman and Sarah Gaston. Preceeded in death by her best friend, her husband  Rafe Jackson,her brother Aubrey Chatman Jr and niece Sheena Jackson Kimble.

She is survived by three sisters Vada, Frances,and Geneva a hist of nieces, nephews,cousins and relatives.

Mrs Jackson education began at Booker T. Washington, Midlothian, Texas. She graduated in 1955. She attended Prairie View A&M University where she received a Master's degree in education.

She was and Educator in Dallas Independent School District for over 40 yrs. She also sang with her sisters and brothers (The Chatman Sisters) opening for act during the 1960's

Dorothy was a faithful steward at Carver Heights Baptist Church where she served as minister of Music for over 30yrs.

Mrs Dorothy Jackson will truly be missed, but her soul and here spirit will remain forever vibrant through the many lives she touched.
