Dorothy Byrd Franklin was born May 25,1948, in Jasper, Texas to the late Eddie B.and Wilhemenia Byrd. Sister Byrd-Franklinaccepted Christ at an early age and unitedwith Moore Chapel C.M.E. Church.Dorothy Byrd-Franklin received hereducation at J.H. Rowe, Class of 1966. She
attended higher education at Bishop College in Tyler, Texas; there she became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
Sister Franklin gave birth to her only son Carlos Eugene Byrd. She later united in holy matrimony to the late Ollie Lee Franklin.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie B. and Wilhelmenia Byrd, brother Carl Byrd.

She leaves to cherish her memories as her loving dedicated son Carlas Eugene Byrd (Tinepa) of Dallas, Texas, stepdaughter Klintania Nash of Dallas, Texas, bother Eddie James Byrd of Mesquite, Texas, sister Connie Monroe (Jessie) of Balch Springs, Texas. Five grandchildren La'Jessica, TeAira, and Carlas II Byrd, KeAntae, and KeAndre all of Dallas, Texas. Five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews
