Doris Chaffin was born on August 25, 1941, in Honey Grove, Texas, to O.C. Person and Lola Reliford. She enjoyed a wonderful childhood and grew into a woman whose life was beautifully marked by faith, family, love, and joy.

On April 16, 1959, Doris married the love of her life, Charles Chaffin. Together, they shared 50 years of marriage until his passing. Their union was blessed with three children, whom Doris loved and cherished dearly.

Doris was a devoted member of Ewing Avenue Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, where she faithfully served for many years as an usher and choir member under the leadership of Pastor Thurmon Perry. She loved to sing and often led songs of joy, sharing her faith and beautiful spirit with everyone around her. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Doris found happiness in the simple and meaningful things in life—spending time with family and friends, sitting outside and enjoying the day, traveling, laughing, and simply having a good time. She was known for her joyful spirit and beautiful smile. No matter what life brought her way, she carried herself with warmth, laughter, and love. Her smile could brighten a room, and her presence made everyone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.

Those left to cherish her precious memory are her only brother, Bobby Person; her three children, Kenneth Chaffin, Charles Chaffin Jr. (Sheryl), and Twala Chaffin; her grandchildren, Cayanna Chaffin, Cayaria Lawton, Michael Chaffin (Ceondria), Kenneth Chaffin Jr., and Lucas; her great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, O.C. Person and Lola Reliford, and her beloved husband, Charles Chaffin.

Though she has departed this earthly life, Doris's love, laughter, faith, and joyful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. The songs she sang, the smiles she shared, the love she gave, and the memories she created will continue to be treasured by her family, friends, and church family.

Her earthly journey may have come to an end, but her beautiful legacy of love and joy will live on forever.
