Dores Hellen
Edwards
January 15, 1947 – November 24, 2024
Dores Fuller Edwards, born on January 15, 1947, in Newton, Texas, to the late Rev. Modieshaw Fuller and Elizabeth Fuller, was the youngest of eleven children. She was a loving wife to Tony Edwards for twenty-nine years and the proud mother of five children, eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She cherished her role as a wife and mother, creating a warm, welcoming home filled with love and laughter. A homemaker at heart, Dores was known for preparing delicious meals that brought her family together, always making sure there was a feast on the table, especially during her favorite times of year—Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every holiday season, she delighted in cooking for her family and made it a tradition to share meals with neighbors who were in need, teaching her children the importance of generosity and kindness.
She loved the Lord and lived out her faith through her kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Her family will forever remember her love and support and the warmth she brought into their lives. Whether it was singing, solving crossword puzzles, or hunting for treasures at garage sales, where her eye for antiques was legendary, Dores found joy in life's simple pleasures.
Dores was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings: Juanita Bennett, Artimisha Rogers, Sadie Ruth Bennett, Dorothy Tryon, Russell Bennett, Enoch Fuller, Obadiah Fuller, Terry Fuller, and Josiah Fuller.
She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, faith, and devotion. Dores will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Tony Edwards; children, Leigh Fuller, Elle Bell, Edwin Tench (LaKeshia), Johanna Jones (Rommel), and Ralph Tench (Lanae); her eleven grandchildren, Diamond Taylor, Mianna Howell, Faith Marshall, Rommel Jones,Jr., Ryan Jones, M'Kayla Tench, Serenity Dugan, M'Tia Tench, Brooklyn Tench, Giovanni Tench, and Giselle Tench; five great-grandchildren, Alaunah Taylor, Diamond Taylor, Jr., Sarai Howell, Emory Marshall, and Ezrah Marshall; and her sister, Minnie Alice (Joyce) Fuller, along with many other relatives and friends.
Dores' family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace with her Savior, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
