Obituary

Don attended Mt. Auburn Elem., JL Long MS, and graduated from Dallas Woodrow Wilson High School in the Class of 1986.  (Mr. Wildcat 1986)  Afterwards, Don moved on to play football at Kilgore College.

Don was employed by UPS and worked as a basketball official for 25 years.

On December 23, 1995, Don was united in holy matrimony to Delora Dorsey and this union was blessed with 2 children, Deja Young-Craddock and Dyani Young.

Don loved refereeing basketball, watching the Cowboys and Mavericks.  He also enjoyed mentoring young athletes, being a jokester and the life of the party.  Most importantly, he valued spending quality time with his family and friends. He was known by many and loved by most.  He was a proud part of the East Dallas community.

Don Young will be dearly missed by, his devoted wife of nearly 26 years, Delora Young of Dallas, TX, three daughters Amber (Alfredo) Albiar of Mesquite, TX, Deja (Timothy) Craddock  of Killeen, TX, Dyani Young of Mesquite, TX, and two sons Joshua (Laura) Young  of Houston, TX and Caleb Young of Austin, TX; one grandchild, Chris Albiar; Mother, Velma Young, Father, Rudolph Young of Dallas, TX; one brother, Edward (Angela) Young and two sisters, Beverly (Bill) Ver Steeg  and Carol Shurm; nephews, Kendrick, Quintin , Paul, Edward II, Tristan (Elizabeth), Andre' (Shaneth), Reed and nieces Mikilee and Ashley, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his brother Timothy Young.
