Dione Terrell
Wilson
November 11, 1968 – January 18, 2025
Dione Terrell Wilson, born November 11, 1968, in Shreveport, Louisiana, was the cherished daughter of Roy Sr. and Esther Terrell. From an early age, she developed a deep love for music, a passion she carried throughout her life and shared generously with others.
Dione's musical journey began in her youth when she trained and competed annually in the Greater Shreveport Music Teachers Association Classical Piano Solo Festival. As a middle and high school student, she became the first student piano accompanist for her school choir and used her gifts to serve the church as a youth choir director. A proud graduate of Captain Shreve High School, she continued her education at Louisiana State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Networking and Communications Management and later a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management. During her college years, she also pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., forging lifelong bonds.
In her personal life, Dione had a daughter, Tiffany A. Williams. After college, Dione returned to Shreveport, where she worked as the Minister of Music at Galilee Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church, and Little Union Baptist Church. Her ministry in music was a central part of her calling, and she shared her talents with many.
In 1994, Dione relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she continued her ministry as the music leader at St. Mark Baptist Church. She also worked for the Dallas Independent School District, where she utilized her expertise in Human Resources. A devoted servant, Dione accepted the position of Music Leader at Community Missionary Baptist Church.
Dione later met and married Duron Wilson, a dedicated member of Friendship West Baptist Church, where she became an active and faithful member. Her leadership and organizational talents were further demonstrated when she became the Director of Operations at Dallas After school, a nonprofit organization committed to leveling the playing field for children in the Dallas area. Although she was deeply involved at Friendship West, Dione's musical gifts were in high demand, and she served as Co-Music Leader at St. Paul Baptist Church. During her tenure there, she was inducted into the Dallas Metroplex Musicians' Association Hall of Fame class of 2023.
Dione was a woman of remarkable faith, talent, and service. Her life touched the hearts of many, and her legacy will live on through the music she shared and the lives she impacted. She is remembered fondly by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dione was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Sr. and Esther Terrell, and leaves behind her beloved husband, Duron Wilson; daughter, Tiffany A. Williams; bonus son, Adonis Wilson; siblings, Karen Harris (Earl), Roy Terrell (Chijuana); mother-in-law, Mary Wilson; and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.
