Obituary

Derwin Burnette Wilson was born on July 4, 1963 in Fort Gordon, Georgia to the parentage of Henry Eugene Wilson Sr. and Gladys Marie Wilson. He was one of the four children to this union. Derwin graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in 1981. Derwin accepted Christ at an early age.

Derwin was a good and funny man. He was a dedicated and hardworking man. God blessed him with gifted hands. He loved working on cars and always wanted to know your future plans. He would go to work, in any weather, even if he didn't feel well. He was a proud mechanic and always helped anyone in need.

Derwin was a proud, son, father, grandfather, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He had a passion and gift of cooking and drawing in his spare time. He freely shared his gifts with others. As a child he was remembered as "Smiley". His smile was so deep you could see his soul. He won first place in a smiling contest when he was younger. Derwin was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

He leaves everlasting memories with: daughters, LaQuita, Chandra, LaToya and Brittany; grandchildren, Aaron, Shaun, Carmen, Camron, Victoria and Nicholas; beloved mother, Gladys Wofford; grandmother, Ester Clewis; brother, Jacque Wilson; sister, Darlene Smith (James); nieces: LaTasha Hill, Robin and Kristi Wilson; special aunt, Ocie Barnes; special niece and nephews, DeAndrea, Jeremiah and Zion Wilson; special friends, Larry Powell and Vickie Newton (Alfred), and a host of cousins, other family and friends.

Derwin was preceded in death by his father, Henry E. Wilson Sr., brother, Henry E Wilson Jr., uncles: Charlie Clewis, Robert Clewis, Dwight Clewis, Randy Clewis and James Clewis, paternal grandparents and maternal great -grand parents.
