Derrick Shappelle Daniels was born October 9, 1980, to the parentage of Charles Daniels and Linda Daniels . He was the younger of 2 children.

He completed his formal education in the Dallas Independent School District where he attended and graduated from Dallas Can Academy. He completed courses at Cedar Valley College.  To know Derrick was to know that he enjoyed being outdoors with nature, fixing electronics, guns and being with family. He had a love of animals and at times we thought he was the animal whisperer.  His sense of humor and love of life will greatly be missed. The family, along with many friends, has lost a wonderful human being.

His life was interr upted, but while he was on this earth he embraced opportunities and the chance to experience life with open arms. His smile and charming ways can never be replaced. Derrick was one of a kind.

Those who will miss him most include his father and mother,  Charles and Linda Daniels; sister, Sheniqua Daniels (Nikki); 2 sons, Derrick Daniels Jr. and D'Kerrian Daniels (DK); 1 daughter, A'zyria Daniels; nephew, Andre Brown, Jr.; life partner, Tara Turner and sons, Jyair , Jarvis and Jucal ; and a host of family and friends.
