Precious Memories

2 Timothy 4:7-8

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto them also that love his appearing."

Demetria Jenay Warren-Halley was born in Dallas County to the parentage of Clinton and Laverta Warren on January 27, 1984. Jenay was baptized at an early age at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. S.C Nash Sr. As a servant in the house of God, she was a member of the ushers, praise dancers, deaconess, and orientation committee.

Jenay attended school at Red Oak ISD. In May 2007, she received her Bachelor of Science degree at Texas Women's University, and in August 2017, her Master's degree from Lamar University. As an educator, she taught elementary education in Duncanville, Lancaster and Houston ISD.

Jenay married Anthony Halley II March 8, 2014 and moved to Houston December 2015. After relocating to Houston, Jenay became the First Lady of the True Light Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member wherever she was needed. She worked tirelessly with the A to J (Addicted to JESUS) praise dancers.

Jenay was preceded in death by her grandparents Manon and Jessie Warren and Lena M. Golden; and her brother Brandon M. Edwards.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband Anthony Halley II, parents Clinton and Laverta Warren; sister Tamiko Warren; special niece Jasmine Cofer; mother-in-law Barbara Halley-Peterson (Detroit, MI); father-in-law Anthony Halley (Maggie); sister-in-laws Amanda Edwards and Jade Williams (Detroit, MI); aunts Wanda Johnson, Evelyn Clemons (James), Bettye Perry, Connie Rowe, Alice Moore and Gloria Edwards; uncles Pete Thompson, Hiawatha Golden and Norwood E.
