Harris-Stewart
July 3, 1949 – December 23, 2025
Delois Jean Harris Stewart was born on July 3, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Bernice Brown Harris and Elree Harris. At a very young age,
she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
Delois received her formal education through the Dallas Independent School District. She dedicated over 50 years of service to the Home Health
Care industry, where her compassion, work ethic, and commitment to caring for others were evident to all who knew her.
Delois had a joyful spirit and a love for life. She enjoyed reading, art, music, movies, antiques, playing cards and dominos, video games, and
most of all, making people laugh. Her warmth and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
In October of 1968, Delois married Edward Stewart. Together, they shared 50 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, family, and
devotion.
Delois was preceded in death by her father, Elree Harris; her mother, Rev. Bernice Brown Reece; her beloved husband, Edward Stewart; and
her brothers, George Reece, Carl Harris, and Michael Harris. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Ronald Stewart
(Taranie), Winfred Stewart, and Cassie Stewart. She is also survived by her brothers, Rev. Donald Harris, Paul Reece, and Dennis Wayne Harris;her sisters, Stephanie Harris, Janette Harris-Williams, Paula Harris, and Brenda Strange-Rhineheart; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
