Life Reflections

Deion Ray Rowden was born in Dallas, Texas September 6, 2000, to the parentage of Jimmy Ray Rowden and Shinica Nicole Patterson-Rowden.

Proceeded him in death:  Father Jimmy Ray Rowden, Grandparents: Debra Patterson, Jimmy Ray Rowden Sr. and Patricia Shuttlesworth, and God Father: James Williams I.

Deion was a faithful member of Bruton Terrace Church of the Nazarene. He accepted Christ in his heart at an early age. He served on several committees in the church: Teen and Men Usher board, Teen and Adult Choir, NYI Member, Church Drama Club, Teen Unity of Praise, he served as a scripture reader during Sunday morning worship service and performed many other duties in the Church, including helping to serve food to community.

He attended Head Start in Mesquite and Mesquite ISD from Pre-school through High School. While at Kimbrough Middle School, he joined band and played the clarinet. Later he graduated from Poteet High School in 2020 where he was a recipient of the Poteet Light House Award, earned High Citizenship Grades, and finished with a 3.25 GPA.

Deion had a love for basketball, and he played many years with Upward Basketball League and the Boys and Girls club of Mesquite TX. In the summer league of 2009, his team won 2 nd place with the Boys and Girls club. Also, in 2015, his team won the Championship in the winter tournament with Upward Basketball League. He also played football for the Boys and Girls Club in Mesquite.

Deion was employed at Mister Car Wash for 2 years. He was also employed by FED-EX Ground for 1 year and was currently working at Amazon until his death.

He leaves to mourn: (Mother) Shinica Patterson-Rowden, (Guardian God/Mom) Yolanda Jones-Williams, (Sisters) Amber (Ruben) Johnson and Rakisha Carter, (Brother) Isaiah Rowden, (God Sisters) Tomica and Makenzie Jackson, (God brother) James Williams II, (Nieces) Harmony, Abigail, and Rakisha, (Nephews) Ruben Jr, and Charles. He also leaves behind Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a host of Relatives and Friends.
