His Life Legacy
Andrew D. Dillard was born August 3, 1939, to Elbert and Stella Modean Mickles in Teague (Freestone County Tx). Andrew Dillard was the oldest of 3 children (including Alvin Dillard and Della Ruth Nealy). Andrew attended Asia Primitive Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age. Andrew attended J.A. Brooks Elementary school and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School where he lettered in Basketball and Football as a starting Quarterback. His favorite pastime was fishing.
After graduating, he enrolled in Prairie View A&M College and graduated in 1960 with a degree in Industrial Technology.
Andrew met Bobbie Jean Collins when she was 15 years old at Booker T. Washington after being introduced by Andrew's sister. They dated until Bobbie Jean Collins was 20 years old and were married on May 17, 1963. Andrew Dillard jr. was born on January 14, 1962, and Darryl Dillard was born on July 11, 1964.
Andrew and Bobbie Dillard attended Greater New Bethel Baptist Church (Dallas Tx) from 1969-1989. They attended the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church from 1993 to present.
Family members preceding Andrew Dillard in death are: Andrew Dillard jr, Darryl Dillard, Alvin Dillard, Della Ruth Nealy, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
