Obituary

Deacon Gary Connell Griffin's life could be categorized as "His Story of Love. "G" Baby had a sparkling, captivating, infectious, magical smile that was warm and inviting. It made you feel comfortable and welcome.

Gary was born on October 1, 1951 in Waco, Texas. He is the first and oldest son of Emory and Maggie Forward and Henry Scarlett. Gary is "big" brother to seven brothers and six sisters.

Gary accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Waco, Texas. Gary Griffin was a faithful and dedicated member of the Community Missionary Baptist church, serving faithfully as a deacon until his health began to fail him.

Gary was educated in Waco, Texas, and graduated from the famous A.J. Moore High School "1970" Graduating Class. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1971, serving for 71/2 years. Gary retired from the United State Postal Service after 34 years of service.

Gary greatest gift to the world was the gift of "love." First and foremost, Gary loved the Lord with all of his heart, soul, and might. He exemplified that in the way he treated everyone. "G" Baby loved his wife, whom he affectionately called "VVG". Their union was simply amazing. Gary and Virginia's marriage consisted of a blended family, son, Jarvos, daughter, GiGi, sons, Eric, Derrick and Hayward as well as seven grandchildren.
