Obituary

David Samuel Murray, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, peacefully transitioned from this life on March 14, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on November 2, 1946, in Ferris, Texas, David was the beloved son of David and Margaret Lois Murray. He was a beacon of kindness and resilience, and his life was a beautiful testimony of love, service, faith, and dedication.

David was a proud graduate of Dunbar High School in Ferris, Texas, where he formed lifelong friendships and began building the foundation for a life filled with purpose and accomplishment. After graduation, he answered the call to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force, where he faithfully served for four years. His military service reflected his deep sense of duty, discipline, and respect for others. Following his service in the military, David worked at Southwest Wheel before beginning a successful career as an insurance broker with American National/General. Later, he embraced his entrepreneurial spirit and became self-employed, serving countless clients with integrity, wisdom, and
professionalism.David was a devoted member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, where he found spiritual strength, fellowship, and a loving church family. His faith in God guided his life, and his quiet strength, warm presence, and steady spirit were an inspiration to all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, David and Margaret Lois Murray; his devoted wife, Louise Murray; his sister, Margie Cherry; and his brother, Alfred Murray. Though they preceded him in death, their memories remained dear to his heart.David leaves to cherish his precious memories: his son, Corey Murray (Regina); his daughter, Tara Murray (Roy); his stepdaughter, Demetria Glaspie (Justin); his sister, Mable Armstead; his special nephew, Jesse Cherry; four beloved grandchildren, Crystal Dean, Timetra Goodson, Corey Murray, Jr., and Brooklyn Murray; five adored great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

David Samuel Murray leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, wisdom, and treasured memories. His gentle spirit, generous heart, and steadfast love for family will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his life and legacy will continue to guide and inspire those he leaves behind.

Rest in peace, Daddy. Your love remains with us, and your memory will live on forever.
