Obituary

With heavy hearts, we say farewell to a remarkable soul who graced our lives with his warmth, deep love, and unwavering kindness. David Bundy Jordan, a man whose presence lit up rooms and whose laughter echoed through our hearts, was born in Tyler, TX, and embarked on his life's journey on August 23, 1962.

Picture this: the youngest of seventeen siblings, yet somehow still the undisputed king of swag in our family. David strolled through life with a swagger that could put Denzel Washington to shame. Cool does not capture the essence of our Uncle David.

From his early days at Robert E. Lee High School to his later stints in various industries like landscaping, the spirits industry, oil field equipment, and Texas Instruments (because why limit oneself?), David's journey was as colorful as his personality. But it was during his thirty-year tenure at Sarah Lee that he truly found his groove, leaving an indelible mark on coworkers and colleagues alike with his dedication and infectious charm.

Though his roots lay in Tyler, Texas, a city not big enough to contain his larger-than-life spirit, David found his true home in Dallas, TX, where he cultivated lasting friendships and became an integral part of the community. His infectious laugh, impeccable sense of style, and boundless compassion touched the lives of all who crossed his path, leaving behind a legacy of love and goodwill.

Despite his larger-than-life persona, David was there when you needed him most, offering support and laughter in equal measure. Whether he was cracking jokes, lifting spirits, babysitting, or simply being the life of the party, he had a knack for making everyone feel like family. And let us not forget his exceptional ability to clean up on the dance floor—a skill he inherited from his parents, Pearl Mosley and Herman Lee Jordan, who would walk miles to compete in and win dance contests.

Sure, he had his quirks—like his brief marriage and his penchant for chatting up the ladies from East Texas to the Caribbean—but that is what made him so unforgettable. He had swag for days, a dapper wardrobe, impeccably clean cars that would make some a little envious, and that smile that could light up the darkest room. His smooth demeanor belied his genuine desire to meet his queen, love deeply, and receive love in return. And though he may have left this world alone, he leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will echo through the ages.

David departed from this world on May 6, 2024, leaving behind hearts heavy with grief yet brimming with gratitude for the impact he made during his time on earth. He now joins his parents, Pearl Mosley and Herman Lee Jordan, and his siblings, Beatrice, Jerry, Jimmy, Alfred, Cana, Betty Jo, James Earl, Evelyn, Joe Boy, and Runder, in eternal peace, and leaves behind siblings Georgia, Herman P., Herman Lee, Melva Ann, Robert Louis, and Randy, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, with his spirit forever enshrined in the memories of all who knew and loved him.
As we mourn the loss of a beloved brother, uncle, colleague, and friend, let us also celebrate the beautiful life of David, whose legacy of love and cheer will continue to resonate within us all. Rest in peace.
