Obituary

Darsel Lee Moore was born August 25, 1949, the fifth child of Payton Moore and Marie Long, in Crockett, Texas.

After moving to Dallas, Texas in the early 1960's he graduated Lincoln High School, class of 1967. Upon graduating he enlisted in the United States AirForce for four years. While serving his country he became interested in law enforcement and police work. He completed several courses of Police Security/Supervision. Darsel was discharged with a Purple Hear in December 1971 and became a very proud Vietnam Veteran.

After being honorably discharged from the Unites States Airfoce, Darsel enrolled in Abilene Christian University @ Dallas where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981.

Darsel began his journey in Law Enforcement by working at the North Park Shopping Center and later at East Field College. He worked at the Dallas Police Department and the on to Terrell Police Department. His final home was with Rowlett Police Department where he retired with 42 years of service in law enforcement.

After retiring, Darsel became so fascinated with golf whereas some days he would have a morning and evening Tee Time. He loved everyone of his golf buddies. Let him tell it he was always the winner.

Darsel met and married the love of his life Mary Helen Moore (his Honey and Moe-Moe) on August 2, 1985. For 36 years he was a devoted and loving husband.

He was preceded n death by his parents, one sister, Jeraldine Douglas, two brothers, Payton, jr. and Lloyd Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Mary H. Moore, two sons, Darsel Lee Moore II and Reginal Dean (Audrey), a step-daughter, Michele Yancey (Darrell), two grandsons, Dasian and Darian Moore, one brother, Cleveland Moore (Iris), a very special uncle, Leon Simmons (Walterine) and a host of relative and friends who loved him dearly.
