Obituary

Daphne Gail Proctor London was the first of four children born to the parentage of Mrs. Patsye Jean Greene Proctor and Mr. Leonard Boyd Proctor on June 28, 1950, in Austin, Texas. She grew up in Fairfield, Texas, and later moved to Dallas. Daphne attended Dogan in Fairfield and transferred to N.W. Harllee Elementary School in Dallas. She was the first to integrate South Oak Cliff High School in 1968, graduating the same year.


Daphne confessed to Christ at an early age, attending Carver Heights Baptist Church and later joining Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.


Daphne began her career at Fidelity Union Life Insurance in Downtown Dallas. She set her dreams higher and later landed a job at IBM, where she decided to retire early. After retirement from IBM, she advanced her career and worked at AAFES - - The Army and Air Force Exchange Service, where she worked as a Merchandising Catalog Associate and served as a union representative. Daphne retired from AAFES on August 30, 2013, after 23 years of service. In honor of her 23 years of service, Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson ordered flags flown over the United States Capitol. the Army & Air Force Exchange Service.
As a retiree, Daphne enjoyed traveling, shopping, fine dining, and dancing. She was known for her huge personality and lighting up the room. Daphne loved all genres of music, especially "old school" R&B and blues. She encouraged and celebrated those she loved and was passionate about spending time with family and friends.


Daphne was preceded in life's transition by her parents, Patsye Jean Greene Proctor and Leonard Boyd Proctor, and one sibling, Debra Leonardo Proctor.


Loving memories will be celebrated and greatly remembered by her three children ~ Kevin Owens (Monica), Delisa Proctor and J'Dron London Sr.; her grandchildren ~ Kennedy London, J'Dron London Jr., Faith London, Christian Williams, Kevyn Rand, Jazmyn Owens, Michael Wallace Jr., Kalen Owens, K'Dron Owens, Mornae Wallace, and Soteria Owens; a host of great-grandchildren; her siblings ~ Darrell Proctor and Derreke Proctor; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
