Daniel Webster Woolen age 78 went home to be with the Lord on January 30,2022
Daniel was born May 8, 1943, in Elysian Field, Texas to Effie Mae Woolen and Richard Joe Woolen Sr. Who proceeded him in death. Although, for years he celebrated his birthday on February 8, 1944.Born in a family of 18 children, it was easy to get birthday mixed up.
He attended and graduated from The Booker T Washington High School in Marshall, Texas.
He moved to Dallas and met and married Julia Ruth Woolen. To this union 3 children were born. Tunita Woolen-Bailey, Daniel Woolen Jr. And Timothy D. Woolen. After many years of marriage, they divorced, and she Is now deceased.
He met and married Ruthel Woolen and helped her raise her two children they were married for 28 years until his death.
Daniel was a born entrepreneur. He owned and operated Daniel Delivery Service and American Freight Trucking Companies for over 50 years until he retired in 2016.He employed several of his brothers and was always willing to help anyone that was willing to work. He trained both of his son's to become licensed CDL drivers, which allowed them to continue his legacy of driving trucks, as well as owning and operating in the trucking business.
Daniel attended New Birth Baptist Church, I.B.O.C and The Potter's House and was a faithful member of Christ the Cornerstone Community Church for 9 years where he served faithfully. He enjoyed reading his bible from cover to cover. He was a devout Christian man and believed in the word of God. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them at his lake house at Richland Chambers Lake in Corsicana, Texas. He looked forward to cooking and serving his world-famous Barbeque with all the trimming.
He looked forward to the holidays, where he proudly cooked and served his own recipe turkey and dressing, green and blackeyed peas. He loved serving entertaining his family and friends, as he enjoyed, and celebrated life.
Daniel was one of 18 brothers and sisters and was preceded in death by the following siblings Richard Joe, John Benson, Dorothy Davis, Gladys Nash, LaSalle Woolen,Sr, Gratis Woolen,Sr, Raymond Woolen,Sr, Melvin Woolen, Napoleon Woolen, Bernice Woolen, Bernard Woolen and Arthur Ray Woolen, Sr. Surviving siblings, Margie Lowe, Charles Woolen (Edy), Gerald Woolen, Rufus Woolen, and Thelma Gordon. Surviving children and grandchildren Tunita Woolen Bailey (John), Daniel Woolen Jr., And Timothy Woolen (Cherie), Step-children Jonika Eubanks-Gerald (Brodrick) and John Eubanks, Jr.
His grandchildren: Jasmine Bailey-Grainger, Jade Bailey-Perry and Jonathan Bailey, Daniel Donte Woolen Jr. Timothy Kendal Woolen Jr,. Adrian Woolen, and Zachery Woolen, four step-grandchildren Brodrick Gerald II and Jaylen Gerald, DaiShawn Eubanks, and DaiVeon Eubanks.
His great grandchildren: Madison Perry, Mia Perry, Mariah Perry and Evan Leigh Joel Grainer.
