Curlee Washington Jr. (CL) was born on December 10, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Curlee and Arveta Washington. He graduated from Phylllis Wheatley Elementary School, James Madison High School, and the University of Vermont. During his youth, Curlee Jr. was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. In high school, he was a member of the high school band, ROTC, and participated in several clubs and activities. A talented and gifted musician, Curlee Jr's professional activities included teaching various subjects abroad and music in the Dallas Independent School District.

Curlee Jr. died on Sunday, October 10, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curlee and Arveta Washington and a brother, Rosell Washington. He leaves behind two sisters Norda Carnegie and Alberzine Freeman, brothers William Lewis Washington (Margie) and Michael Kiest Washington (Sandra), and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family is indebted to the nursing staff, administrators, and social workers at Medical City Plano Hospital, Adora Midtown Park Assisted Living, Williamsburg Village Healthcare Campus, and to our friends and relatives who provided love and support.
