Life Reflections
On October 24, 1973, a beautiful baby girl, Crystal Renee Sterling, was
born to Walter and Eliza Pearl Johnson in Tyler, Texas. Crystal was
commonly known by her middle name "Renee". Her personality matched her
name, Crystal– bright, beautiful, and rich. She was one of the most loving,
devoted and passionate people that we all had the pleasure of knowing. In her
earlier years, Crystal attended church in Tyler, Texas at Porter's Chapel
Church of God in Christ. Crystal attended elementary school at Peete
Elementary, middle school at Stewart Middle School, the first part of her high
school years were spent at Robert E. Lee High School Crystal moved to
Dallas, Texas & she graduated from South Oak Cliff High School on May 29,
1992. After highschool, she became a successfully licensed Cosmetologist,
owning multiple hair salons across the DFW metroplex. During her time in
the DFW area, she met and married the love of her life, Denzil Sterling. To
this union, they raised 5 children, Corey (Jada), Alycia, Denzil Jr, Marissa
and Ryan and one grandson, Kordell. Later on in life, she went back to school
and attended the University of Texas at Arlington earning her Bachelor's
degree in Nursing. Crystal loved the Lord wholeheartedly and attended
Lighthouse Church of God in Christ. She worked with the youth, served as
the Captain for Women of Promise, sang in the choir, and worked with the
hospitality committee. She had a heart of gold and loved serving others.
Crystal's most memorable quote was "What you do for God is the only thing
that's going to last". Left to cherish her memories is her family and her
siblings, Marie Johnson, George Johnson, Walter Johnson Jr (Nakia), Westel
Johnson (deceased) She is survived by her mother-in-law, Monica Richards,
Brother and sister-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host
of family & friends
