Celebrating the life of Craig Steven Brooks

Craig Steven Brooks entered into this life on November 26, 1964, in Clarksdale, Mississippi to DW Brooks and Annie Katherine Cager.

Craig graduated from Clarksdale High School in 1982, where he was an outstanding student-athlete.  After graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy.

While Craig was in the Navy, he met Stanley Kirk Burrell aka MC Hammer who would become his lifelong friend and brother.  This meeting changed Craig's life and started a career in the entertainment industry spanning 15 years (1989-2004.)

Craig accepted Christ while attending services at The Potter's House Church, Dallas, Texas under the leadership of T.D. Jakes.

Craig developed and expanded the skills and knowledge acquired in the entertainment industry to become a successful entrepreneur and business owner.  When asked about his life, Craig, who was affectionately called Blackberry, would say, "I came from the cotton fields of Mississippi to travel the world. Hush Yo' Mouth."

Craig had a big personality that was only eclipsed by his even bigger and brighter smile.  His loving spirit always made room for others.

Craig transitioned into eternal peace on January 24, 2021.

Craig was preceded in death by his grandmother Nealie Pollard, his father DW Brooks and mother Annie Katherine Brooks, and his sister-in-law Juton Brooks.

Craig leaves to cherish his memory, his seven children, Quiana Harris (Denise Harris)of Dallas, Texas, Precious Early (Angela R. Boyd) of Atlanta, Georgia, Ciara Brooks(Renee Clayton) of Austin, Texas, Craig Brooks, Jr. (Renee Clayton), of Houston, Texas, Britney Brooks(Natalya LaBauve) of Oakland, California, Carrington Brooks (Cassandra Ogburn)of Frisco, Texas, Caden Brooks (Cassandra Ogburn)of Frisco, Texas, two brothers; Gerald Brooks (Linda), Alden Brooks (Juton) and three sisters; Carolyn Wright (Oscar), Teneta Tippett(Dwayne) , Sherry Welch (Issac) and a host of family and friends.
