Obituary

Courtney Harris came into this world on March 11, 1967 in Newark, NJ. He lived most of his childhood in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he graduated from North Side High School. He went on to attend Wabash College where he earned a degree in English.

Courtney was best known for his infectious smile, jovial personality, great sense of humor, generous nature and gift of gab. He turned his friendly personality, love of conversation, and the ability to connect with just about everyone on the planet into a successful career in sales. He has worked in New Mexico, Michigan, Tennessee, Mexico and all over Texas. At the time of his passing, he worked for Continental Tire as an Area Dealer Manager.

As a child and young adult, Courtney was very active in his church, Turner Chapel A.M.E. in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He lived by Christian values everyday his life. He allowed those values to guide his actions. He treated everyone kindly, volunteered on holidays to feed the homeless and always looked for ways to serve his fellow man. He even adopted a rescue dog.

He loved to participate in countless hobbies and activities. He loved all sports and played college in football and recently coached a softball team. He spent his time participating in Toastmasters, at the gun range, building RC cars, socializing with friends and family, listening to music and collecting all kinds of memorabilia and keepsakes.

His memories will be cherished by his parents, Mary and Robert Harris of Charlotte, NC; his brother, Devin Harris of Charlotte, NC; sister, Cynthia Harris of Silver Spring, MD and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The homegoing celebration will commence on Saturday, January 25, 2013 12:30PM at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home in Dallas, TX.
