Corey Lee Hobbs Sr. was born August 19, 1983 and was the first child to Thelma M. Hobbs and Obie Lee Watson. He transitioned through the gates of eternal life on Monday, September 19, 2022, in Dallas, TX.

Corey attended W.W. Bushman Elementary, Sarah Zumwalt Middle School and A. Maceo Smith High School in Dallas, Texas where he participated and was recognized for his all-district football talent. He also had love for basketball and was an enthusiastic scholar. He gave his life to the lord at early age and served in many aspects at Warren United Methodist Church.

Corey enjoyed fishing, family get togethers, music, the racetrack and was avid car lover. Corey was known for his many talents including bbqing, frying fish, fixing cars and DYI projects. His greatest love and the things he is most proud of is his 2 children: Akia Edwards-Hobbs and Corey Lee Hobbs Jr. and special relative, Tiana Alexander. He was a great father and father figure to all kids that he came into contact with.

Corey leaves to cherish: Thelma M. Hobbs (mother), Obie L. Watson (father) (Ruth), Arthur Columbus Hobbs (grandfather) (Hattie), Siblings: Ceondria Hobbs, Cordelia Strhan (Steven), Meosha Watson Jackson (Roderick), Schumpert Caldwell, Kelsey Caldwell (Angela), Shakeibra Hackworth (Keland). Family Elders– Robert Reed (uncle), Lois Kennedy (aunt) and Garfield Hobbs (uncle), a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Proceeding him in death: Bessie Jane Reed Hobbs (grandmother), Roberto Watson (grandmother) and Curtis Watson Sr. (grandfather).
