Corey Wayne Hughes was born to the parentage of the late Herbert Ray Hughes, Sr. and Ester Marie Atkins Hughes on July 27, 1969.  He attended the public schools of Dallas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School, class on 1987.  After finishing high school, he worked for Bank of America for many years.  Leaving Bank of America, he started driving for a trucking company.  He also worked for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas for 20 years.

He is survived by his mother, Ester Marie Atkins Hughes; brother, Herbert Ray Hughes, Jr.; sister Sherry Lynn Hughes Crump; niece, Zaria Marie Crump and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family friends, and co-workers.
