Celebration of Life for Constance Michelle Jones

Constance was born on March 10, 1962, in Wiesbaden, Germany.

She began her school career in Germany and was fortunate to acquire dual citizenship at the age of five. She was a bright and creative child from the start. Once back in the United States, her creativity began to blossom and shine. She graduated from Bishop Dunne High School in Dallas and received her Bachelor of Science, majoring in Broadcast Journalism, from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. Throughout her school career, her extracurricular activity of choice was dance. She started dancing at the Mary Lois School of Dance in Dallas and continued to move her feet until God wanted her home.  She was honored to be presented as a debutante by the Cotillion Idlewild Club of Dallas in 1981. Her social event was named the "Butterfly Gala."

Constance always had a flair for being on stage and in front of an audience. While beginning her career in television, stage, and film, she also made her mark as a boss. Constance and her best friend, Karen Mann, started their own entertainment company, C & K Associates in 1984. Karen and Constance produced fashion shows, training pageant contestants, choreographing pageants and stage plays, acting instruction and many other projects associated with the performing arts.

While being her own boss, she was also a signed professional actress. She had a long-term contract with The Mary Collins Agency in Dallas, where she worked for such brands as Dinty Moore Soup, Pro-line, Kimball Art Museum, DART, JC Penney's to name a few. Constance was not one to sit still, which meant auditioning for stage plays that traveled the world. She was the key actress in the critically acclaimed "The Diary of a Black Man" and "Miss Evers' Boys."

In the last twenty years, Constance concentrated her talents locally as she cared for her mother, who passed away in 2019, and her father, who was still giving her "a run for her money" at 90 years young. She was excited to be a part of the Inspiring Body of Christ theater team where she assisted in the production of The Story of Adam and Eve.

Connie, as she was affectionately called by her family and close loved ones, was a true believer of the word of Christ.  She attended St. Luke Presbyterian Church and eventually migrated to the Inspiring Body of Christ.  Constance had a true relationship with God that she shared daily with anyone who would listen to her testimony.  Although her body was wounded from pushing its limits over the years, she found a way to keep dancing.  She started teaching line dancing in the early 2000's until her death.  She truly loved the art of movement and fellowship she found with her seasoned senior students.

Constance had two very close people in her life with whom she shared her deepest secrets to her happiest moments- Karen Mann, her business partner and longtime best friend, and Erica Annise Rogers Braziel, her godsister.  Both Karen and Erica will forever be bonded to her.

Constance is preceded in death by her dear sweet mother, Dr. Areatha Simmons Jones and many other relatives. She leaves her beloved brother William "Billy" Jones and her doting father William C. Jones and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends who will miss her terribly.  The two things Constance would want you to remember about her are that her favorite color was cobalt blue and that she truly felt that a blue monarch butterfly was her spirit being place her words here to complete obit.
