Deacon Collies Height, was born on January 29,1944 in the state of Georgia to the parentage of the late Rev. L.C Height and Pastor Anna Height. During his early childhood he moved to Dallas,Texas, where he received his education and graduated from Booker T. Washington. During his early adulthood, he joined Bethlehem Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he accepted Christ as his personal savior and became a deacon and joined the male choir. In the early 90's, he met, fell in love, and married Bernice . He worked for many years up until his health started to decline in 2011 which caused him to retire. His hobbies were shooting pool, reading books and he loves watching movies. He also enjoyed going to church, eating a good meal and spending time with family. He loves football (Dallas Cowboys), baseball, tennis and golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. L.C Height and Pastor Anna Height; wife, Bernice Height; ; Pastor (Aunt) Daisy Shipman, his brother, Johnny Height; his sister, Gloria Hill, stepdaughter, Ramona Sharp and great-grandson, K.J. Collies leaves to cherish his precious memories: his grand-daughter, Ashley Ross whom he helped raise; two sisters, Willie Mae Lee; Jeanie Height; and one brother, Louis Height (Roz); stepchildren Rosie Jacob (Gary); Billy Anderson(Toyann); Bobby Blackshire (Heather). 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren He also shared a special relationship with his niece, Burnie (Denise) Felder and a host of relatives and friends.
