Clyde Edward Jones was born November 10, 1946 in Hughes Springs, Texas to the parents of the late Jessie and Alister Jones. Clyde had a twin sister, Clydey Mae, who passed away at birth. Being the survivor that he was, Clyde went on to excel at various things in his lifetime. He attended and graduated from Bruce High School in Gilmer, Texas in 1966. Clyde wasa star football player and was known for his athletic ability. Early on, he was a member of Young's Chapel AME in Bethlehem Community in Gilmer, Texas.After graduation, he answered the call of duty to serve in the United States Army from September of 1966 until June of 1968. He would ascend to the rank of Level 5 Specialist as a paratrooper, who is someone specially trained to parachute into military operations. After his decorated military service, Clyde followed a number of his siblings and decided to move to Dallas, Texas. His exceptional work ethic allowed him to excel in a number of large corporations. While living a fruitful life, he would eventually meet and marry Ms. Connie Montgomery, of Dallas, on September, 21, 1991. They would walk together side-by-side for over 30 years in matrimony and would share two wonderful daughters. They attended Friendship West Baptist Church in Dallas under the leadership of Dr. Frederick D. Haynes. Clyde also had a beloved older son and daughter who also reside in the Dallas area. Clyde Jones was an admirable man. He was an outstanding provider and that characteristic permeated out to his extended family as well. Among his accomplishments, he worked for, and retired from, Bell Helicopter after 15 years of service. During his professional career, he earned a number of certifications and accolades. His talents and interests were varied and included collecting toy cars, blues
music and exercising.
Clyde leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Connie Jones; Children, Alfred Zachery, Shuntay Dotson (Brandon), Calise Jones and Chalanna Jones; Grandchildren, Braylon, Taylor and Kailon Zachery and Zoe Dotson; Siblings, Historia Lewis, Jessie Shelly, Alice Goodman (L.C), Johnnie Clark, Letha Goolsby (Bobby), T.W. Jones (Zelda), Eddie Jones; In-laws; Leon Montgomery, Clifford Montgomery (Pat), Frank Montgomery (Patty),
Jennifer Johnson and Jackie Wells....along with and a host of nieces and nephews.
Clyde had loved ones who preceded him in death. His parents, Jessie and Alister Jones; Brothers, James Jones, Isaiah Jones and A. L. Jimmerson; Sisters, Clydey Mae Jones, Louise Williams, Elizabeth Sneed, Lena Denmark and sister-in-law Cloteal Polk.
