Clearthur Polk was born June 11, 1966 in Waxahachie, Texas to Richard Polk, Jr. and Hattie M. McGowan. At an early age he confessed Christ at the Fourth Ward Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor James McNeely.
During his youth and school days, he participated and excelled in football and track, graduating from W.H. Adamson High School in 1984.
Clearthur was united in Holy Matrimony to Delores (Peaches) Adkins on February 13, 1999.
Later on, Clearthur and Delores became members of Life In Christ Church, under the leadership of Elder Jason Henderson.
"Polk", as he was affectionately known, was loved and respected by many and took his leave for a better home on July 5, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his father: Richard Polk, Jr. ; stepfather: Jessie Matthews; Maternal Grandparents: Rich and Veola McGowan; Paternal Grandparents: Richard Sr. and Ida Mae Polk; Uncles: R.Q. McGowan (Lois deceased) and Willie Bills as well as Mother and Father in law: Annie L. and Roosevelt Hogan, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories; Wife: Delores Adkins-Polk; Mother: Hattie M. McGowan-Herford (Paul); Son: Jacoby Deaton; Sister: Vanessa Polk; Step-Sisters: Pamela Hallum and Torsha Mays; Mother-in-law: Olia Shepherd; Uncle: Cleao McGowan ( Lula Mae); Aunt: Eula Bills; Sisters-in-law; Cathy Henderson, Linda Pitts, Diane Adkins, Cynthia Dright, Cassandra Foster (deceased), and Valerie Bridges; Brothers-in-law: Roosevelt Hogan, Jr. (Linda) and Leonard Hogan; Special nephew: Jarius White; Goddaughter: Paiton McCollister; Godsisters: Tasha Owens-Smith and Louvada Jones; godbrother: Eric Owens; as well as special friends: James, Mike, and Carolyn Swindell and Chris Leftridge.
