A TIME TO BE BORN…
Christy Mitchell was Born on June 2, 1969, in Dallas, Tx to her parents Billie Joe and Rosie McGruder.

A TIME TO LEARN…
Christy received her High school Diploma in 1987 from David W. Carter. She furthered her education at Cedar Valley College and later completed course work to receive her CDA

A TIME TO PLANT…
In 1987 Christy Mitchell married Steric Paul Mitchell. To this union were born their 2 daughters Crystal McGruder and Crysta Mitchell.

A TIME TO WORK…
Christy's passion for children led her to work as a Drill Team coach for both Maple Lawn Elementary School (Dallas, TX), and later Adelle Turner Elementary (Dallas, TX). Her love for hospitality led her to the hotel industry where she managed several hotel chains. Christy then answered the corporate world call and transitioned to become Executive assistant for Profile Group, DISD, Verizon (Las Colinas), and later moved on to Union Christian Academy (Dallas, TX).

A TIME TO WORSHIP…
Christy was raised in the church. She started at Mount Olive Baptist Church where she attended Sunday school. Memorial Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the youth choir and later moved to New Comforter Family Church where she was Choir Secretary.

A TIME TO MOURN…
She is proceeded in death by both sets of grandparents Lee Miah and Annie Lee Duncan, Matthew and Lois Faye McGruder, and her father Billie Joe McGruder

A TIME FOR PEACE…
Christy leaves behind: Her mother Rosie Hightower (John Hightower) husband Steric Mitchell, daughters Crystal McGruder (Keric), Crysta Mitchell (William). Grandchildren Trey Whitehead, Keric Spoons Jr, Kamyron Spoons, William Whitehead, Miya Whitehead, and Kyrie Spoons. God Children Jeremy and Kasey Watkins. Brother Billie Joe Johnson, Bonus siblings Joseph Hightower (Denise), Kevin Hightower, Diethra Marshall (Charles), Derrick Hightower, John Hightower. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and close friends.
