Ollie Lee Christine Crosby Coleman was born October 16, 1934, to parentage of the late Charles and Mattie Crosby in Birmingham, Alabama.
She attended public school in Birmingham, Alabama where she graduated from Park High School. She met and married John Lewis Coleman Sr., on April 14, 1953.â To this union five children were born.
Mother Coleman accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Kingdom Harvest Church of God In Christ in 1983, under the leadership of her son, Bishop (Designee) Dexter L. Coleman Sr. During her tenure at Kingdom Harvest Mother Coleman was appointed several positions, those being the Usher Board President, Benevolent Treasure, Deaconess President, Tribe Captain for Anniversary Committee; and she was currently serving as Church Mother. She faithfully and diligently worked in her positions as well as many other things to aid her church.
She answered the Lord's call to come home and passed with peace and grace on October 17, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Deacon John Coleman Sr., her parents Charles and Mattie Crosby, three brothers, Charles Crosby, Billy Crosby and Frank Crosby, one grandson, Justin Coleman, and one great granddaughter Brittany Coleman.
Christine leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Dexter Coleman Sr. (Paula) of Mesquite, Texas, John Coleman Jr. (Dian), Desoto, Texas, three daughters, Lois Coleman of Seagoville, Texas, Carolyn Johnson (R.C.) of Dallas, Texas, Cathrlyn "Denise" Coleman of Dallas, Texas; Five sisters, Julia Williams of Birmingham, Alabama; Lola Rankin of Birmingham, Alabama; Mary Beasley (Ralph) of Atlanta, Georgia; Brenda McCoy (Jesse) of Atlanta, Georgia and Betty Berry of Douglasville, Georgia; Two sister-in-laws, Onias Coleman and Alberta Coleman both of Seagoville, Texas and three brother-in-laws, Ezell Coleman of Seagoville, Texas; Ralph Beasley of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jesse McCoy of Decatur, Georgia; Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and a loving church family.
