Cheryl Renel Taylor was born on July 6, 1960 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Mr. Willie Taylor and Ms. Thelma Palmer.

Cheryl attended school in the Dallas Independent School District where she graduated from Skyline High School in 1978. Upon graduation, Cheryl attended Dallas County Community College. She completed her studies at North Texas State University, now known as the University of North Texas, earning a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in 1987.

A deeply spiritual woman, Cheryl gave her life to Christ at a young age and made Concord Missionary Baptist Church her spiritual home. She was a devoted member of Concord, even as her health prevented her from being present physically. Throughout her time at Concord, Cheryl was a part of several ministries, including the Mass Choir, the Singles Ministry and the Counting Team.

Cheryl lived a life of service and worked closely with Sis. Edna Pemberton, advocating for the citizens of the Oak Cliff community. In addition to her service and advocacy, Cheryl was employed with the Dallas County Elections Department until her health no longer allowed her to work.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Willie Taylor and Mrs. Thelma Palmer Washington. She is survived by her two sisters, Rhetta Washington McCoy and Racquel Washington; nephew, Jonathan Eric McCoy, Jr; her three brothers, Carlton Bullard (Yolanda), Bill Taylor and Larry Mathis; nephews Craig Bullard, Kevin Bullard and Christopher Bullard; and her step-sister, Ruth LaTrice Washington. A host of uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends will continue to keep Cheryl's vibrant memory alive.
