Obituary

Cheryl Lorraine "Jade" Palmer, 60, of Burlington, NC, passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2025, at her residence, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and music.

Born in Dallas, Texas, on May 10, 1965, to the late Carlton Palmer, Sr. and Evelyn Lucas Palmer, Cheryl grew up with a spark that would later light stages, studios, and hearts. A proud 1984 graduate of Skyline High School in Dallas, she went on to carve her path in the entertainment industry.

"Jade" wore many hats in her career: producer, promoter, DJ, and proud owner of Freedy Bones Entertainment. With music in her soul and rhythm in her step, she knew how to turn ordinary gatherings into unforgettable celebrations. Whether behind the decks or coordinating events, Cheryl had a gift for bringing people together, spreading joy, and creating moments that would be remembered long after the last song played.

But beyond the stage lights, Cheryl's heart belonged to her family. She was fiercely protective, endlessly giving, and deeply devoted to her children and grandchildren. To her family, she was not just a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt—she was their anchor, their laughter, and their safe place.

At home, Cheryl found peace in life's simple pleasures. She loved cozy nights watching horror movies, listening with an open heart, and bringing calm to those around her with her wisdom and presence. She was outgoing, filled with humor, and had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved.

In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her brother, Carlton B. Palmer.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving wife, Latricia Palmer; her daughter, Chertora Palmer (Raymond Hubbard); daughter, Ton'e Brigham; her son, Jeremy Palmer; grandchildren Lorieal Hubbard and Cartier Hubbard; her sisters Jocelyn Palmer, Ramona Palmer, and Suzzette Martin (Alvin); her brother Buford Palmer (Marie); her god-sister and best friend Wendi Taylor; along with a host of 17 nieces/nephews and 35 great nieces/nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched with her energy and love.

Though the music has quieted, Cheryl's melody lives on—in the laughter she sparked, the love she gave, and the joy she spread everywhere she went.
