Charlie Johnson was born October 23, 1938 to Mr. Charlie Ray Johnson Sr. and Mrs. Zepher (Coot) Johnson in Fairfield, Texas. He attended Furney Richardson School.
After school, he joined the United States Air Force where he served honorable until February 1961. After his duty in the military, he began a career of truck driving, which took him to many destinations across the country until he retired. After retiring, Charlie affectionately known as "Bonehead", dedicated his time to family and friends. He was always lending a helping hand wherever needed. This included repairs to home, transportation to doctor visits, and whatever else was needed. A man of the neighborhood. He was a father figure, friend, and mentor to many. He never met a stranger and once you met him you never forgot his personality.
In 1957 he married Eunice Johnson , to this union 4 children were born. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; beautiful daughter, Darlene Taylor, brothers; Mure Lee and J.W. Johnson
He is survived by his loving wife, Eunice Johnson. Daughter, Cathy (Eric) Williams of Lakewood , Ca; sons, Charlie Johnson III, Christopher Johnson, and Zachary Lynn Carter of Dallas, Texas. Grandchildren, Eric (Kurllenne) & Deric Martin, Brandon Williams, Kenneth "Bubba" & Korrinn "Cory" Taylor, Helena "Brandi" Banks, Krs'Tina Langrum (Corey), Christopher James & Jazmine Johnson, Ashley Davis. Several great grandchildren. A devoted son-in-law Kenneth Taylor. Aunt, Idias Mims and uncle Herod (Curtis) Mims. His daily chat buddies, brother-in-law, Don Glasco and friend Howard McWilliams.
A host of nieces, nephews and other family members who were so deeply loved by him.
