Obituary

Charles Wendell Nelson was born on May 7, 1942 to the parentage of Roy Nelson and Vera Cotton Nelson in Hopkins County. After a lengthy illness he departed life on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.

He was educated in the Hopkins County School District. Charles Nelson was a successful entrepreneur of car dealerships in Sulphur Springs and Dallas Texas. He loved cars, fishing, hunting and helping others.

On January 26, 1968 he married the love of his life Ina Wesley, and they were the proud and nurturing parents of four daughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Yolanda Wesley-Ifenwanta, brothers James Nelson, Fendoll Nelson and sisters Florence Nelson, Martene Fannin, Virgie Ross and Imogene Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife and caretaker, Ina Nelson of Mesquite TX; three daughters Lagina Green of Houston TX , Sonja McDaniel of Grand Prairie TX and Sandra Nelson of Mesquite TX, sister Wanda Young of Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law Lana Goddard, brother-in-law James Wesley(Lana); Nine grandchildren Christopher, Darius, Jerron, Monique, Zachary, Kameron, Shani, Phinease and Tirzah; four great-grandchildren, Christian, Madison,Jaydon and Aniya; one God-Daughter Kristin Carroll, one grand-God daughter Isabelle; nephews, Brusker Fannin(Barbara), Norman James Nelson (Jeanine)Jerry Ross, Marcus Ross(Angie), Ricky Nelson, and Arnold Nelson(Teresa); Nieces Sevetra Pankey(Todd),Carolyn Longjohn, and a host of relatives and friends.
