Obituary

Charles Luther Hayden was born on August 30, 1950, in Kerens Texas to Charlie Hayden and Pearlie Mae Allen (Jackson). He adored his grandmother who raised him and often referred to her as " Momma " he carried her in the highest regard. Charles accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Charles received a formal education through KISD Kerens and was a graduate of the class of 1968 he was often referred to as Little Charles. "

While in Mexia, Texas he found the love of his life singing at a nightclub, Velma Lee Williams who soon became Velma Hayden, and from this marital union, they created 3 children.

Charles was known to be an excellent cook, always sharing his food with anyone who stopped by. The door was always open.

Charles always had a job and was known for being a hard and dedicated worker who never missed a day. Charles retired from the Rock-Tenn Corporation where he spent 46 years, he retired on his birthday August 30, 2017, as he would say he "Got On Up Outta There."

He spent his retirement years scratching lottery tickets, enjoying his grandchildren, watching westerns, Andy Griffith, Cartoons (Family Guy), cooking & Monitoring everyone's Facebook posts! He loved "The Book ".

Charles was an excellent father, husband, brother, cousin, co-worker, cook, and friend. He was a Singing Hills celebrity when the F150 rolled up to 7-11 they knew it was lotto time.

Charles was one of a kind and he will truly be missed.

Charles was proceeded in death by his grandmothers, Lizzie Allen and Mary Jane; grandfathers, Hez Allen and Charlie Hayden Sr.; father, (Charlie " Tang" Hayden) and mother (Pearlie Jackson); stepmother (Leslie Hayden); son (Charles Golden) and brother (Anthony Hayden).

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Velma Hayden of 46 years and their children Tomeka Hayden- Williams (Yorle Dwyne Williams), Valen Hayden-Price and My'Keme Antjuan Hayden; honorary daughter, Tamisha Spence " Mee Mee"; his other children from Kerens Texas, Cedric Golden and Schlunda Golden Milton (Keith Milton); his grandchildren, Addisyn Price, Chase and Yuri Williams, Matteah and Payton Golden and Kameron Milton; his honorary grandchildren, Dramesha, Grabriel, Zakyla, Randy and Ashton Spence; his brother, Juan Jackson; his sister, Sharon Jackson (Latasha Wade); "Sister" cousin Ruth Baker (James); honorary brother, Torian Wakins (Mouth) ; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and everyone who came to any one of the Velma's Unisex and Salon Meek locations.
