Charles Ray Dancer was born October 10, 1941 in Streetman, Texas to the parentage of Andrew Dancer and Addie Turner Dancer, who preceded him in death.

He attended public schools in Dallas, Texas. He worked as a chef /cook at J's Cafeteria for several years.

He married the love of his life, Mary Jo Dancer on February 18, 1976 and to this union twin boys were born, who have special needs.

He accepted Christ and united with New Morning Star Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Sammie Ray Dancer and his sister, Charlene Dancer.

He will forever be cherished by his faithful and dedicated wife, Mary Jo Dancer; sons, Charles Ray Dancer, Jr., William Ray Dancer, and Arnold Blair; daughters, Toni M. Ray, Demetrice D. Smith, Jackie Mock of Essex, Maryland; a niece/daughter, Bennie Renee Dancer that he raised; and a special granddaughter, that he loved dearly Ida Michelle Thomas, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
