Charles A. Baker of Dallas, Texas passed away and went to be with the Lord on November 24, 2021.

Charles was born in Hodge, Louisiana, to the parents of Virgil and Elteazer Knighten Baker. He accepted Christ at an early age at Galilee Baptist Church in Hodge Louisiana.

He attended high school in Jonesboro, LA in 1956 and graduated from Grambling State University in 1960. Charles joined the Army in 1961 where he served 3 years in Fairbank, Alaska.

He taught at Wesley Ray high school and was the assistant football coach from 1964-1966. He worked and retired for Moble Oil Corporation in Dallas, TX as an Accountant for 26 years.

Charles was an avid golfer, and claimed, 'I was the best and at the top of my game." He will always be remembered for his love of golf.

He met and married Nettie Braden Baker in 1964 and to this union was born 2 children- a daughter and son. They were married for 56 years and 11 months.

Charles is preceded in death by his loving parents, Virgil and Elteazer: sisters Virgil Lee, Doris, Margie Nell, Barbara, brother Jackie and son Vernon Wilson.

Charles leaves to mourn his passing: wife Nettie, daughter Deartrus and son Charles Jr. all of Dallas, TX. Sisters Vera Johnson of Jonesboro, LA, Chery Gray of Minneapolis, MN, brother Jerry Baker of Hodge, LA. Sister-in-law Sandra Wright of Richmond IN, and brother-in-law Charles Braden of San Diego, CA. Granddaughters: Sha'Ravia, Krystal, Shardae, Alexis, Jazmin, 13 great grandchildren; four cousins and a host of nieces and nephews.
