Chantina "Tina" LaNet Brown, 38, returned to her heavenly home on December 17, 2017 after a long battle with a cancer but was ultimately taken from this earth with a long struggle with phenomena. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Madline Brown.
Tina was born February 23, 1978 to the Avis Winona Brown and Melvin Ulon Brown, a strong and devoted mother later joined in matrimony with Rev. Melvin Brown in Dallas, TX. She was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She was an acolyte for her adoptive father as an adolescent and was involved with youth group as an adult. She graduated from H. Grady Spruce School in 2000 winning a multitude of medals in their Special Olympic Program including track and field. Tina was always ready to love, assist, and encourage those around her and be assured that she was always the first to the finish line when it came to all of that and more. Tina was blessed with a large and loving family.
She accepted Christ as her personal savior in 1993 at First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park in Dallas, TX. Tina loved to be involved with care taking for those around her and any person she saw in need. From assisting people at her many community involved jobs to her day to day work at your neighborhood grocery store, Tina would make sure to give anyone that crossed her path her undivided attention. She enjoyed many of life's most simple but endearing enjoyments such as, painting, word search, and completing puzzles that included 1,000+ pieces.
From simply speaking to Tina it was easy to tell that she was a woman who fiercely dedicated not only to her loved ones but to the Lord she served. Tina was a lite-hearted spirit but had a personality packed with plenty of spunk and humor. She was a kind individual who would show love to those in need and than challenge you at a game of Uno to cheer you up.
Tina was blessed with a forgiving spirit and a genuine heart that gave innocently to all she knew. She is and will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
Tina is survived by her mother, Avis; Her step-father, Melvin; Her older and young sister's, LaToya "Shay" and Danielle "Dani"; Her brother-in-law, Kenneth "KP"; Her Aunts, Frieda, Shelia, and Debra; Her Uncles: Lecolin, Eric, Greg, Marcus, and Rodney; Her Grandmother Billie Jean; Her cousins, Madeline "Nikki" Brandon, and Derrick; And a host of family and friends.
