Cassie received her education through the Dallas Public Schools and continued her studies at other Dallas institutions of higher education. Their love and commitment continued to grow through the years, and on August 18, 1994, Cassie and John Carl renewed their wedding vows. At an early age, Cassie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She became a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church in Seagoville, Texas, under the leadership of the late Reverend W. B. Under the leadership of Senior Pastor Reverend Willie M. Richard, New Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church was constructed in Crandall, Texas. There, Cassie continued her faithful service as a dedicated member. She served dutifully as the Announcements Clerk and sang faithfully in the Adult Choir until her membership ended; however, her faith in God never did.
