Obituary

Carolyn was born in Lubbock, Texas on December 11, 1948 to Ms. Carrie Mae Gilbert and Mr. Norman Preston Hall. She was the second child and oldest daughter of five siblings. She was raised in Temple, Texas in a God-fearing home, by her maternal Aunt Lizzie Porter Bryant. She accepted Christ at an early age.

Carolyn received her preparatory education at Dunbar Meredith High School in Temple, Texas - graduating in the class of 1967. She was an exceptionally gifted student, especially in the area of mathematics. Later, she attended Jarvis Christian College for two years before relocating to Dallas, Texas.

Carolyn met the love of her life and devoted friend, Robert Moore, while attending high school in Temple. She and Robert married in Dallas, Texas on February 21, 1970. This union was blessed with two children: Adrian Pleshette Moore and Brent Eric Moore.

Carolyn worked in the Actuarial Department of United Fidelity Life Insurance Company for approximately three years until 1972. Later, she was employed by Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas as an Executive Assistant for over 35 years, retiring the first time in 2000. Because of her work ethic, commitment, and dedication to the hospital, she returned to Parkland after only 6 months in retirement. She was indeed a valuable asset to the hospital, permanently retiring in December 2013.

Carolyn was a very special mother, sister, aunt, wife, grandmother, and friend. She had a tremendous zest for life and an awesome love of family. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, fishing, and dancing.

Carolyn peacefully entered eternal rest on October 26, 2017 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her father, Norman Preston Hall, best friend Robert Moore, and brothers Kenneth Ray Seastrunk and Clifton Hall.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory: Mother - Carrie Mae Wiley of Kirbyville, Texas; daughter - Adrian Johnson (Darwin) of Grand Prairie, Texas; son and grandson - Brent Eric Moore Sr. and Brent Eric Moore Jr. of Dallas, Texas; two brothers - Franklin Hall (Maxine) of Oakland, California and David Hall of Kirbyville, Texas; and three sisters - Norma Ann Hall, Gloria Gaines Nash both of Houston, Texas, and Margie Nell Hall of Dallas, Texas; and a host of relatives and friends.
